Sunny is a family operating system that helps families plan meals, organise schedules, share responsibilities and create more breathing room in everyday life.

To do this, Sunny stores information about the adults and children in your family, your meals, routines, tasks and — only if you choose to connect it — your calendar. This information is used only to provide Sunny's planning and family organisation features.

We collect information you provide directly, and a small amount of information needed to run the service:

• Account information: your name, email address and authentication details when you sign up or sign in.
• Family member information: names, roles, birthdays and any details you choose to add about the people in your family.
• Meal preferences: foods your family likes, dislikes, dietary requirements and meal-planning choices.
• Allergies and dietary requirements: information you enter so Sunny can plan safely for your family.
• Tasks and responsibilities: the jobs, shared loads and routines you create or assign in Sunny.
• Calendar information: when you connect Google Calendar, we read event titles, times and descriptions so Sunny can show your real commitments.
• Usage information: basic app activity and error logs needed to keep Sunny running, fix bugs and improve the experience.

We use your information only to:

• Build your family's personalised plan and weekly schedule.
• Show the right tasks, meals and responsibilities to the right people.
• Avoid conflicts and find free time when you connect a calendar.
• Keep your account secure and respond to your support requests.
• Improve Sunny's reliability and fix problems when they occur.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Sunny only requests the minimum permissions needed to read your calendar events.

• Sunny reads your calendar so we can display your commitments, understand when you are busy, avoid double-booking and find breathing room in your week.
• Sunny does not modify, delete or write events back to Google Calendar.
• Calendar access is per-adult: each grown-up connects their own Google account independently.
• Your Google Calendar credentials are stored securely server-side and are never exposed to other family members.
• You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your account settings.

Sunny uses essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect your account and remember your preferences. These are necessary for the app to work and cannot be turned off.

We do not use non-essential tracking or advertising cookies.

We take protecting your family's information seriously. Personal information is stored securely, access is limited to what each feature needs, and authentication is handled using industry-standard services.

Connected calendar credentials are encrypted and stored server-side. They are never visible in the app, never shared with other family members, and are removed when you disconnect a calendar.

No system is ever completely risk-free, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in details safe.

Sunny does not sell personal information. We only share information with trusted service providers required to operate the platform, such as our secure backend infrastructure provider.

Google Calendar data is used solely to provide Sunny's calendar features and is never sold or shared for advertising.

Sunny is designed for parents and caregivers. Parents and guardians choose what information to enter about their children, and that information is only used to provide family planning features such as meals, schedules and task sharing.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of digital consent. If you believe a child has provided information directly to us without parental consent, please contact us.

We keep your information for as long as your Sunny account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable period, usually within 90 days, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.

Calendar events imported from Google Calendar are refreshed regularly and removed when you disconnect your calendar.

Sunny is built on Lovable Cloud infrastructure, which may process and store data in secure data centres around the world. By using Sunny, you agree to this transfer and processing, which is protected by appropriate security safeguards.

You can:

• Access the information you have provided to Sunny.
• Correct inaccurate information through the app.
• Delete your account and associated data at any time.
• Disconnect connected services such as Google Calendar.
• Contact us with any privacy questions or requests.

If you are in the UK, EEA or another region with privacy laws, you may have additional rights. Contact us and we will do our best to help.

Sunny may add new integrations over time, such as Microsoft Outlook or AI-assisted planning features. When we do, we will update this Privacy Policy to explain what new information is collected and how it is used.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Sunny grows and changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we will let you know through the app or by email.
